The Gospel (good news)

The gospel is the ‘good news’ that God made a way to be forgiven of the sins you have comitted against Him and others, to be saved from His punishment for those that won’t come to Him, and to be sealed by God to continue with Him in eternity as a child of God.

Even better news is that you don’t even have to earn it.  It’s a FREE gift offered by God, through Jesus Christ His Son.

Believe the gospel, then you’ll be saved, if not you will be judged based on your righteousness vs. the holiness of God.

Well….how easy is it?

Let’s start with some basics : this gospel is pretty simple, yet it may seem hard before you are saved.

[Rom 10:8 KJV] But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, [even] in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
[Rom 10:9 KJV] That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
[Rom 10:10 KJV] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
[Rom 10:11 KJV] For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
[Rom 10:12 KJV] For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
[Rom 10:13 KJV] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

[1 Cor 15:1 KJV] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
[1 Cor 15:2 KJV] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
[1 Cor 15:3 KJV] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
[1 Cor 15:4 KJV] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The first place to start is by talking to God and confessing that you are a sinner and you need help.

You see…once you have sinned, no work of religion or membership to a church, or water baptism  can get you ‘right’ to stand and commune with our Holy Father and He would not be ‘good’ if He allowed you as an unrepentant sinner to come and be with Him and those He cares for in heaven for eternity…you’d only continue to harm others He loves.  What to do…Welll, you must recognize that you are a sinner, that God would be excercising good judgement to keep you away from heaven, and you’ll need forgiveness and you need a savior, as you have failed to justify yourself.

[Rom 3:23 KJV] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
[Rom 3:24 KJV] Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
[Rom 3:25 KJV] Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
[Rom 3:26 KJV] To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
[Rom 3:27 KJV] Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Jesus offers to be your savlation and He comes to you by faith, and not by your works.  You must be forgiven and accept salvation by Him and His payment, rather than attain it by works or buy it for yourself.

Even better, you’ll recognize when you’ve been saved, becuase there will be a moment where you and God meet each other and He gifts you the Holy Spirit and seals you for redemption.  His Spirit will continue with you for the rest of eternity.  So first, Jesus said you must be born again, or ‘quickened’ ( given or restored life & fellowship ) by the Holy Spirit of God.

[Eph 2:1 KJV] And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;
[Eph 2:2 KJV] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
[Eph 2:3 KJV] Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
[Eph 2:4 KJV] But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
[Eph 2:5 KJV] Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
[Eph 2:6 KJV] And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus:
[Eph 2:7 KJV] That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
[Eph 2:8 KJV] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
[Eph 2:9 KJV] Not of works, lest any man should boast.
[Eph 2:10 KJV] For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

[John 15:26 KJV] But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

[John 3:5 KJV] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[John 3:6 KJV] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[John 3:7 KJV] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

To accept His gift through faith, God must be worshiped in spirit and in truth.

[John 4:23 KJV] But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
[John 4:24 KJV] God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

Jesus came to save sinners and as soon as you reach out to Him in truth and believe on His gift of Himself and His power of resurrection He will save you.

[Mark 2:17 KJV] When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

[Rom 4:5 KJV] But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
[Rom 4:8 KJV] Blessed [is] the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

The good news is that if you truly believe the gospel with all your heart you will be saved.  God will assure you that you are saved, and protected from the eternal judgements of God for sin.

If you don’t you probably won’t.  God will judge.

Believe the gospel, and put your full faith and trust in Jesus alone, and not yourself, or any other way for your salvation.

Jesus said :

[John 14:6 KJV] Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
[John 14:7 KJV] If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

The bible says :

[Acts 4:12 KJV] Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Jesus said :

[John 11:25 KJV] Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
[John 11:26 KJV] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Therefore, according to Jesus and throughout the Bible we see the  only way to be saved is by believing in Jesus.  We must call and confess Him and believe the story of the Gospel in our heart that Jesus Christ came to pay for our sins, lived a sinless life, taught, was killed although He was inncoent, was buried, and that He rose back to life again after 3 days, as according to the scriptures.

[Rom 10:13 KJV] For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

[Eph 2:8 KJV] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
[Eph 2:9 KJV] Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Jesus said he was God’s promised Messiah & Savior

[John 8:23 KJV] And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
[John 8:24 KJV] I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.

Therefore, salvation through Jesus is a free gift available to anyone but it must be accepted and can not be earned.

God has proved His love for us by sending His Son Jesus to die in place of us, and in order to pay for sins we’ve comitted when we profess His Son’s righteousness and not our own.

Jesus said :

[John 3:14 KJV] And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
[John 3:15 KJV] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
[John 3:16 KJV] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[John 3:17 KJV] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[John 3:18 KJV] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The Bible Says :

[Rom 5:6 KJV] For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
[Rom 5:7 KJV] For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
[Rom 5:8 KJV] But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
[Rom 5:9 KJV] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

The Bible is clear salvation is obtained simply by believing on the name of and work done by Jesus :

[Acts 16:29 KJV] Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
[Acts 16:30 KJV] And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
[Acts 16:31 KJV] And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

[1 Tim 1:15 KJV] This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
[1 Tim 1:16 KJV] Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

Jesus said :

[John 6:28 KJV] Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
[John 6:29 KJV] Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

ABC’s =  Admit that you’re a sinner who at times has lived against God’s will for your life as found in His laws.

Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ sacrificially died for your sins, was buried, and God raised Him from the dead.

Confess & Call upon the Lord Jesus and you will be saved.

A = Admit You Are A Sinner :

[Rom 3:10 KJV] As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
[Rom 3:23 KJV] For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

[Luke 5:31 KJV] And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick.
[Luke 5:32 KJV] I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

The first thing to do is to admit you have fallen short and ask God through Jesus to forgive you.

[1 John 1:5 KJV] This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
[1 John 1:6 KJV] If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
[1 John 1:7 KJV] But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
[1 John 1:8 KJV] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
[1 John 1:9 KJV] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[1 John 1:10 KJV] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

B = Believe The Gospel ( Good News ) in your heart.

Take that next step in your heart.

C= Confess & Call upon the Lord Jesus who is alive and waiting to hear from you.

There are many false Gods in the world…so calling on God alone will not help you.  You must go to God through Jesus, God’s perfect Son.

[1 John 4:10 KJV] Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins.

What does the Bible mean by propitiation?

To satisfy the wrath of God against sin & turn away God’s wrath.  To offer a sacrifice that appeases God’s just judgment and righteous anger against us and our sin.  Jesus satisfies the justice of God.

All glory to God.  Thank you Jesus, for paying for our sins in your blood and thank you for your offer to come to God and live with you!
