Before you go to war, you need to know and test your weapons and shields.  You depend on your weapons and armor for your life.

[Proverbs 30:5 KJV] Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

The bible is the word of God, which is the also the sword of the Spirit.

[Ephesians 6:17 KJV] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

God allows us to wield it…but it must be respected and used correctly and in Spirit, or it does damage to us and others in it’s path.

[Proverbs 18:21 KJV] Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

If you are not careful you will cut yourself or others, harming everyone.

However, if the sword of the LORD is used along with expert guidance from the Holy Spirit, God will defend you when His enemies attack, as well as perform heart surgery on you and others at the same time.

A seasoned warrior is precise and surgical in their strikes.  Also, like a surgeon uses sharp instruments to get into the body to do surgery, the sword of God cuts into all of us to do it’s work :

[Hebrews 4:12 KJV] For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

[Matthew 4:4 KJV] But he ( JESUS) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

So…with that in mind, let’s talk about find ourselves a bible we can depend on always and that we know God has put into the hands of those before us :

Generally we recommend all the sources below for various bible needs.

When it comes to a physical bible, we always recommend a having at least one KJV Bible in your posession if you speak english.

Why the KJV?

We recommend the KJV for lots of reasons.  A few of wich are that modern bibles have either added to, taken from, or altered God’s preserved words that have been transmitted to us through the Holy Bible (Authorized Bible / KJV).

For more, there is evidence on our site as to the overall reliability of the KJV vs. Other Bibles.  We recommend having a physical KJV because if / when something happens in the world, or to the web then it will be vital to have the truth in your hands and for others.  Digital information can be wiped out or changed in a few keystrokes in a moment.

We acknowledge and agree that sometimes other verions of the bible can sometimes supplement a study, and often offer insight and added value to some passages, we believe they should never have the final authority on if a passage belongs in the bible, or have the final authority on God’s revealed Word to mankind.  It’s fine to translate a word, another thing altogether to remove it altogether.

Know this : If any english bible goes against the Word of God as preserved in the KJV, removes a passage, or adds passages, it is NOT of God. No matter whether it is the NIV, NASB, CSB, Book Mormon, Q’ran, Jehova’s Witness Bible, ESV, etc.

Remember that the bible ends right after a warning from John through inspiration of the Holy Spirit that no man add or take away from God’s Word :

[Revelation 22:18-19 KJV] For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

If you are interested in verifying patterns and PRECISE word counts in the KJV then you’ll need PURE BIBLE SEARCH.

www.purebiblesearch.com

Most online bible apps do not give accurate word counts.  (examples : Blue Letter Bible, LOGOS, etc.)

This can be a problem if you are depending on getting an accurate count of words to verify potential significant patterns in a bible.

The reason is that Pure Bible Search is the more dependable for counting words is that it was designed from the ground-up to be a word counter.  To simplify, it was coded more like an spreadsheet that contains each word in a cell, thus making searching more precise.  The engine is able to distinguish between Capitalized, ALL CAPS, words that have apostrophes, dashes, and other variations that can affect an accurate word count.

Another great feature is that the engine makes it easy to search for multiple variations at once.
